Halloween Ghost Biscuits
These Halloween ghost biscuits are perfect for a spooky treat or for a Halloween party.
Homemade biscuits are not only one of our favourite treats to eat they are also one of our favourite activities. My Valentines Heart Biscuits contains only 3 ingredients so is the perfect recipe to try with toddlers.
If you have followed me for a while then you will know I'm all about easy food creations. Halloween is my all time favourite theme as it provides a wealth of fun food opportunities. Ghosts are one of the easiest ways to create some fun Halloween food art. Cookie cutters are the easiest way to create a ghost but you do not necessarily need a ghost cookie cutter, you can use a regular circular cookie cutter.
So while these biscuits only contain 3 ingredients and I like to view them as a healthy treat, the decoration is full of sugar! I do believe that everything in moderation and that creating food memories is really important for children. For the decoration I simply used ready to roll white fondant icing, Cake Decor cake decorating pens and Cake decor edible eyes. These ghost biscuits will last a couple of days in an airtight container.

Recipe
Ingredients for Biscuits
Method
Line a baking tray with grease proof paper. In a bowl cream the butter with a mixer until it's creamy. Add the maple syrup and mix further. Add the flour slowly and mix with a wooden spoon. You may find it easier to mix with your hands as it comes together. If it seems too sticky then add a small amount of flour. Once mixed together, transfer to a floured surface and roll out the dough to roughly the size of a pound coin. Using your chosen cookie cutters cut out the dough into ghosts and place onto the baking tray. Bake in a preheated oven at 160 fan for 6 to 8 minutes. Please keep a close eye on these while they are baking as they will burn very quickly. Allow to cool on a wire rack.
Decorating your Ghost Biscuits
Create an icing sugar paste by simply adding a few drops of water to some icing sugar and mix well. Using your chosen cookie cutters cut out the shapes from the ready to roll fondant icing. Add a small amount of icing sugar paste onto your ghost biscuit then gently place the ghost fondant shape on top of the biscuit. Once all the biscuits have been covered with fondant icing you can add the eyes and mouths. Using a black cake pen draw on two eyes and a mouth. If using edible eyes you can glue them on with the icing sugar paste.
